What is

COVID-19?

COVID-19 is a disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. It is contagious and can spread quickly. Additionally, it attacks the lungs, causing respiratory symptoms.

 

This disease spreads when an infected person exhales small particles of the virus. It can be inhaled or have physical contact with the eyes, nose, or mouth.

 

People who are older or have underlynig health conditions are at higher risk of getting COVID-19.

Prevention Actions

Stay up to date with COVID-19 Vaccines

  • Develop protection from the virus 

  • Lowers the risk of getting sick, being hospitalized, or dying from COVID-19

Improve Ventilation

  • Moving and filtered air prevent virus particles from growing in indoor air

  • Bring in as much outdoor air as possible

  • Change filters frequently

Get Tested

  • Test if you have COVID-19 symptoms

  • Test if you have been exposed to COVID-19

  • Test after 5 days from the exposure date 

  • PCR tests are more accurate compared to antigen tests

Suspected/Confirmed COVID-19?

  • Monitor yourself for symptoms

  • Get tested and stay home until you receive your results

  • Wear a high-quality mask when indoors and around others (10 days)
